ABOUT THE SHOW

The Bulls**t Detective is a new series that cuts through the maze of mindless, misleading and downright malevolent claims, lies and deceptions that plague us all nowadays. If you've ever thought to yourself that something looked just too good to be true, you were probably right - and you therefore can't afford to miss this show.

Straight-talking presenter Alasdair Jeffrey (familiar to BBC Three viewers from the series The Ferocious Mr Fixit) is on a personal quest to stamp out bulls**t from our lives. He's determined to sort out fact from fiction - from pseudoscience and phoney miracle products to new age nonsense, alternative medicines and the latest media scare stories.

Alasdair tackles the purveyors of poppycock head on, challenging their claims, sourcing stories, running his own experiments and providing a one-stop shop for the truth. He's aided in his quest by a fact-finding team of other presenters and experts. Together they stage stunts and practical demonstrations to prove their case - and rubbish the overblown claims of the bulls**t merchants out there.

Over the course of the series, Alasdair and his team will investigate subjects as diverse as 'get rich quick' schemes, bottled water, pheromone sprays, crystal healing, sneaky supermarket sales tricks, and self-improvement gurus. Will any of the crooks and con-artists admit their wily ways when confronted by the Bulls**t Detective?
